Nadav, my friend Gila who was visiting from LA, and I headed down to downtown San Diego on Saturday to take in the madness that is Comic-con. We didn't have tickets to go in to the convention, but Comic-con basically takes over the entire downtown area and everywhere you look you see crazies Comic-con attendees who are decked out in "convention attire".
A description of Comic-con, from Wikipedia
"Originally showcasing comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television... and related popular arts, the convention has expanded over the years to include a larger range of pop culture elements, such as horror, animation, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels."
Here are some pictures from our afternoon in downtown.
I call this picture "Comic-con in a Nutshell"
Fandango representing at Comic-con
I had to include this picture of Petco Park
And now... to add "Actually Attending Comic-con" to our San Diego Bucket List. The goal for next summer is to actually purchase tickets before they sell out. :)
