Behind The Blog Name

I've been asked on multiple occasions, what's up with the name of your blog and what does it mean?
I think it's time I explain...

The old lady who had lived in the house before us was the original owner of the home, and had lived in the home since the 1950s. She was really sick and bedridden before she passed away :(, and was unable to take care of the house for many years. After she passed away her children sold the estate and we were able to purchase our little beach bungalow. We loved the house, but it was very clear that the entire house and backyard had been neglected for many years. Somehow we were lucky enough to find a lemon tree and two avocado trees were still alive. They needed some serious tender loving care and LOTS of water but they made us so happy.

Good luck charms? We think so. Those trees were good reminders that even though the renovation process was the worst thing EVER really stressful there would be life and light at the end of the tunnel. The best part? We have home grown lemons and avocados to enjoy.

And now for your viewing pleasure, some pictures of our backyard lemons and avocados

And about the the "bay" part of the blog name?
Our little beach bungalow is in Bay Park, a small community on a hill that overlooks Mission Bay. Mission Bay is an incredibly beautiful place where you can enjoy bike riding, jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or just go to relax and tan. Now check out the views we are blessed with every time we leave the house.

A particularly beautiful sunset
Another incredible sunset

So there ya go, that's how the name Lemons, Avocados, & the Bay came about

I love this. Your blog name is so special to you both. I love things that have a whole meaning behind it. I may have to link up on this. How does that even work? Do I link up to you or the other gal?

Wow, finally I got to read this--the meaning behind your Blog Title. I found it really interesting since I first visited your blog but never really had the guts to ask haha! And I guess that's something that makes a blog more special for the blogger and more meaningful to blog followers. :-) Beautiful name! It could be a good title for a tv series! ;-)

Hello from another San Diegan! I actually clicked on your blog because of Avocados. I live on a street with Avocado in the name, and I love Avocados. I figured you must be local! lol! ♥

I LOVE Bay Park. I have a family friend who must live close to you because your view is similar. We got married at the Hilton right there by Mission Bay. So fun that you own a home there.
