It's A Bohemian Kinda Thing

I'm the type of person who likes to dress a little "different".
Maybe a little bohemian when I think everyone is going to look a little dressy, or I have a tendency to wear a dress or skirt when I expect that everyone will be wearing pants.

I mostly get this from my ever so stylish mom and her beautifully bohemian style.
Then there's also that little piece of me holding onto my old "I'm sooo punk, I wear band shirts, and go see shows every weekend. I'm soo different than everyone else" high school self.
Haha yup, I went there.

This week Alison asked us to make a Friday Fancies outfit inspired by the theme party dress.
When I first started looking for a dress all I could find was the standard cocktail dress. These dresses were beautiful, but I couldn't help but want something different.
Here's my take on a party dress...
party dress

You can always count on Free People to make clothing that is unique, yet beautiful.
I love the pastel pink, mixed with the white, and beautiful gold embroidery on the belt and top.
The draping on the skirt? Sighhhh..
Get in my closet! (and cough, make sure you don't cost $500 before you make your way onto a hanger)

Tonight Nadav and I will be attending my work's holiday party. Will I be wearing something like the dress above?
Nope, although I wish I was.
The holiday party is held at a cute little house in La Jolla each year. It's more of a casual affair, and we all go make an appearance for a couple of hours hehe. I work at a school for kids who are pretty severely disabled, many of the kids have severe autism too. That being said, professional dress does not happen much at work. Instead, jeans and school t-shirts are the standard.
It's always fun to see what people are wearing, and catch up with them outside of the school.

The rest of my weekend will be spent going to zumba (hooray!), hanging out with friends, and hopefully relaxing a lot with my love.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

I always gravitate to the more bohemian clothing. I don't know why, really. Other than when I was in middle school I wanted to be a hippie. Hhaha…

The funny thing about Free People is the prices! What hippie is going to pay that?! :)

Have fun at your work party!

I know just what you mean about going the "different" route...I picked pants for this week's FF because I figured everyone would be doing dresses! Hah! I love your unique dress though, it's just lovely and the earrings are my favorite item!

Oh and what a wonderful job you do! I always loved subbing for the special needs kids when I worked as a substitute teacher after college. They were always so sweet!

Lovely outfit and accessories! I can't wait until I get finished with school and can start picking out things that are really "me" when I shop, then it will definitely be more bohemian like yours! Have a lovely rest of the weekend :D
