Halloween Shenanigans, Mad Men style

Saturday night consisted of shenanigans. Lots and Lots and Lots of shenanigans.
Wine, candy, pumpkin brownies, and drag queens in Hillcrest.
Let's just say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and I spent Sunday on the couch recovering.

The boy and I found our costume inspirations from one of our favorite shows, Mad Men. (Now if only Mad Men would come back on TV.. now!) I dressed up as a 1950s housewife and Nadav dressed up as a Mad Men (1950s NYC advertising executive). We took pictures together, but they didn't turn out as cute as I would have liked. :( I guess that's what happens when the people who usually take the photos are the ones in them.. oh well what can ya do? =P

We started the night pre-partying at Amelia's cute apartment and then moved on to the bars in Hillcrest. Honestly I was thoroughly entertained just walking around Hillcrest and checking out the amazing costumes.

Hello, can I offer you a glass of wine?

or how about some freshly baked brownies?

Contemplating his next big advertising account. Lucky Strike anyone? (and yes that is clearly a fake Lucky Strike cigarette =P)

See? I told you... shenanigans hehe

Cough. No explanation needed..

Just dance... play that record baby... just dance

Hope you all had fun and festive Halloween weekends! :)
I am sooo incredibly excited to hand out Halloween candy tonight to our trick or treaters! Hoorayyy!

Friday's Fancies Halloween Edition

I'm linking up with the oh so sweet Allison of Long Distance Loving again for this week's edition of Friday's Fancies.

Maybe it's the red hair,
maybe it's the fabulous purple clam shell top/bra thing,
maybe it's that I had a bit of a cartoon crush on Eric as a child,
maybe it's that she live(d) under the sea,
maybe it's that I STILL roll up the windows in my car and sing "Part of Your World" and "Kiss the Girl" as loud as I possibly can,
or maybe it's just all of those things combined, but
I always have.. and well, I probably always will.

I have always wanted to dress up as Ariel, but it just hasn't happened. Let's be honest, this is mainly because I have some issues flaunting my tummy for the world to see ;) buttt if I didn't I would totally wear this Ariel costume, green eye glasses and all.

And seriously, how cute is the starfish hair clip and the gem stones on her chest and tummy.

Have a wonderfully spooky weekend my bloggy friends

P.S. I'm planning a San Diego/SoCal blogger meetup on November 13. Comment below if you're interested in joining us! :)

4. I bought tickets for the boy and me to see Cirque de Soleil Immortal (which is the Michael Jackson Cirque de Soleil show) in January! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
5. Halloween! Sooo excited to give out candy to the trick or treaters, this will be the first time I've lived in a neighborhood where kids actually trick or treat since I moved out of my parent's home!
6. Dressing up for Halloween. I usually don't finish putting together my costume until right before I leave the house for a party. This year I have two potential costumes, I'll post pictures next week
7. Watching a good friend marry the love of her life
8. Dancing to this Michael Jackson song because really, who doesn't get a kick out of pretending to be a zombie =P

9. Oprah's Life Class... I think she's truly inspiring :)
10. Making connections with so many awesome bloggers. Seriously, when I started blogging I had no idea I would build such great relationships with so many of you. I think we just "get each other" in ways that our non-blogger friends just can't understand hehe.

Hope everyone has a great day. :) I'm so excited for this weekend

San Diego/SoCal Blogger Meetup Update

Hi Bloggy Friends
Looks like the San Diego/SoCal Blogger Meetup is going to happen on November 13 and I am oh so excited!

At this point, we're still figuring out a location. I'm looking for a wine bar/lounge/restaurant with a relaxed vibe where we can all hang out and get to know each other. Let me know if you have any suggestions, ideas, or simply want to help :)

Interested in joining us? Leave a comment with your email and I'll happily send you the evite :)

Want to tell your readers about the meetup? Grab the button, link up, and post it on your blog :)
(I hear that having a button makes the meetup official =P)

I know some of you were hoping we could plan a meetup in December. If all goes well on November 13 I will happily plan another meetup next month. :)
Can't wait to meet some awesome bloggers!

Tammy :)

What I'm Pinning Wednesday

For the very first time I'm linking up with Michelle who writes the fabulous blog The Vintage Apple for
What I'm Pinning Wednesday
and with Daph of Flip Flops & Pearls for Semi-Wordless Wednesday

First of all is everyone else as obsessed with Pinterest as me? Seriously I can easily spend hours playing on pinterest. A few weeks ago I went to my parents home and set up a Pinterest account for my mom and now she can't stopping pinning. Cute right? There was also the frantic voicemail I received last week because she forgot how to "pin" an item on a website. Haha my mom is awesome :)

Next month I am putting on a baby shower for Nadav's sister in law. I am so happy for Nadav's brother and his wife and am so excited to get crafty and make this baby shower adorable.

Here are some of my favorite baby shower pins, but I'm not going to comment too much because I don't want to give away to much in case the mommy-to-be reads this before the party ;)
