Funny Things The Kids I Work With Say

I'm a therapist and I work with kids who have pretty severe disabilities.
The majority of the kids I treat have autism, and a few of them have cognitive and physical disabilities.
Many of the kids I work with are non-verbal and use electronic devices to communicate, like an IPAD.. I think that's pretty cool.
A few of the kids I work with are verbal, and well,
they say some pretty awesome things sometimes....
The birthday obstacle course my work friends built me last summer. It started at the entrance to the school and ended in my office

"Stop trapping my hooker! Stop trapping my hooker!" (after the student was told to put his Toy Story toys in his locker)

"Get me out of the magic box!!! Take me out of this magic box!!" (after the student was told he had to stay in the area next to his desk because running around school was not safe)

"You mugger!!! You muggggerrr!! You're blocking my tire you muggerrrr!! (after the student was asked to move from the rollie "teacher chair" to the "student chair". I'm pretty sure mugger = mother f*ker, cough)

Student: Uh uhh, Miss Tammy?
Me: Yup?
Student: You know that tower Miss Tammy.
Me: Which tower sweets?
Student: That tower in Paris, France?
Me: Mhm, not sure about that..
Student: Miss Tammmmmyy, you know that tower with the big big STICKS?! The tower with the big sticks and lights?!?! That tower in Paris, France
Me: Ohhh, The Eiffel Tower?
Student: Yessss

"I'm so so mad at you!! I'm going to call the cops on you and then they won't let you go to Sea World or Legoland or the Wild Animal Park or Disneyland or the beach!!" (Well there goes every fun thing to do in Southern California =P)

Student: Hi Special Stage
Me: Uh, my name is Miss Tammy.
Student: Ya, it's Miss Tammy Special Stage
(After the student got used to playing a special stage of Sonic The Hedge Hog with me hehe)

Clearly, these kids are kind of amazing.. and even when my days are rough. They still make me laugh and smile. I'm pretty lucky :)

Patting myself on the back for earning my master's degrees in 2009. Woop woop.

P.S. Check out my Shabby Apple giveaway here:)

Wow, this is amazing and put the hugest smile on my face! I used to work with autistic kids in high school and seriously loved getting to know them and their (unintentionally) humorous personalities :)

What a great thing you're doing!

Ha ha ha!!! My favorite one is the the child that said they were calling the cops. That is too freaking funny...man they know what hurts! No Shamu?!

This is exactly what I adore about children on the lower end of the special ed spectrum. My kids need are extreme but more behavioral, so they don't say too many hilarious things. I have to get my daily laugh by visiting our other SE classroom. Adorable quotes :)
