Oh Hi, I Love You.

It all started last Friday afternoon...

Only that's not really true, this story started a few years ago when I decided I LOVED Kitchenaid mixers because well, they're pretty.. and yup, they're pretty.
I longingly admired them for years, and spent way too much time deciding which color was my favorite.
All that time I just couldn't justify the purchase because well, I never baked or cooked.

Flash forward a few years later and Pinterest comes into my life...
Now I bake, well I bake cookies to be specific.
I have yet to bake something other than cookies.

Well last Friday, Nadav emailed me and said that someone had just posted a really great Kitchenaid mixer deal on Slickdeals.net . (If you haven't heard of Slickdeals, you NEED to get on it. People post ridiculous deals on there... like the $200 flight AND 5 night hotel package to Oahu Nadav and I found a couple of years ago!)

Anyway, I went on Slickdeals and saw that a few Targets had Kitchenaid mixers on clearance... a $250 red Kitchenaid stand mixer for $124 clearance!!!
 Whhhattt?!?!

Ok, whatever, I thought to myself..
"Tammy, prepare yourself  to not get in on this deal. There are just a few Targets that have the mixers, and they're probably already sold out..."
Either way, I left work (cough early) went to one Target, sold out.
Ok, I thought, I'll try one more.
I drove to another Target and managed to find ONE lonely beautiful red Kitchenaid mixer for $124. Aahhhhhhh!

Ok, I died a little bit.
Then, I picked up my new best friend mixer and did a very happy dance. (All right, I also screeched a bit and received some stares from nearby customers. But really, that's neither here nor there)

Anyway, I took my new best friend mixer home and then decided to step away from pinterest, twitter, and blogs for the weekend.
Sooo I didn't have a chance to find any yummy recipes for my new Kitchenaid mixer.

This is where you come in. I still haven't used her.....
What should I make first?
Can't wait to read your ideas :)

xoxo,
Tamms

I have no suggestions as to what you should make other than something delicious obviously but I want to share that I also got a Kitchenaid mixer a couple months ago and pretty much bragged to anyone that would listen for weeks after. My husband scored MAJOR brownie points for that one :) I love it! Have fun!!

My boyfriend gave me a lime green KitchenAid mixer for Christmas! My inaugural recipe was making homemade pizza dough. I love that mixer more than one should. I even reserved a special spot on the counter for that baby.

EEEEKKK! I love mine and use it for making the littlest things just so I can! The first thing we made in ours were Ebelskivers :) Um- beating egg whites to a peak? I would have never done that without my trusty Betty (that's her name!) She sits magnicently on my country and I just like to look at her. We have red too!

I'm sure anything you make will be lovelier now that you have one!

If you use the paddle attachment and put hot cooked chicken in it it makes the best shredded chicken ever... and it gives you another excuse you use your new love :)

I can't wait to see what you decide to make! I'm no help with ideas, because I got a white one for Christmas (to go in our black/white kitchen), and she just sits on my counter. My husband has joked that she's a relic I pray to when he's not looking. I can't decide what my inagural item should be! It's a huge decision!

Yay! I'm so envious that you have a beautiful, red mixer. That would be my color of choice, too! I think you should make the perfect batch of chocolate chip cookies to break it in, they're just classic.

You should definitely make cake with it. Or you know, just sit and admire it. Wow, you're so lucky. I would LOVE to think I'd bake more if I had one of those babies.

I love KitchenAid mixers! I don't even bake all that often, but I couldn't imagine doing ANY baking without it. (Yup, I'm lazy.) I even use it to make pizza dough thanks to the awesome dough hook attachment. My parents have a boring white one, but thankfully I received the beautiful aqua one for our wedding shower. So I totally understand your excitement! Make a delicious batch of cream cheese brownies! (That's honestly what I bake the most.)

Congrats on your awesome new mixer! I got the silver pro series for Christmas, and I FINALLY used it for the first time last night! It's been a box waiting to be moved to our new house. It's pretty much life changing, haha!
