You Saw Shamu Do What?!

So on December 25 we woke up and spent a few hours being lazy.
Eventually we had the same conversation most Jewish people in America have on Christmas...

The conversation went something like this...
Nadav: Do you want to eat Chinese food today?
Tammy: Eh. How about Mexican food? (<--Hi, I live in San Diego)
Nadav ignoring my constant Mexican food cravings...
Nadav: Hey is Sea World open today? We need to activate our passes

Some personal thoughts on Sea World:
1) When I was in high school I went to Sea World and saw shamu have "intercourse". Yup. I did. It was.. uhm... let's just say that when I describe the "situation" to people I feel the need to use big hand/arm motions. Also, there were little kids standing next to me and I'll never forget hearing a little kid saying, "Mommy what is that? What is shamu doing?" Hahahahah. Now whenever I see whales or specifically shamu my brain goes to that crazy experience.
 2) There are A LOT of birds at Sea World... and being the weirdo that I am, I am terrified of birds. No really, birds are not my friends, at all. I also think my fear originates from a childhood memory at Sea World. When I was a little kid I went to Sea World with my family and my uncle bought me some fish to feed the dolphins. I was holding out a fish towards a dolphin and a huge bird flew in my face, grabbed the entire bag of fish out of my hand, and then flew away. Yes. I was traumatized, and yes I cried.
3) I like Sea World and all, and yes I know they treat the animals well, but I can't help but feel sad for a lot of them...
It's just that if I was a whale I wouldn't want to be in a tank all my life...

All that aside, we had a nice time at Sea World that Christmas Day.

Our house is somewhere on that hill...

And just in case you're wondering, we did end up going to get Mexican food ;)

xoxo,
Tamms

Haha, too funny! I want to go to sea world!! I am always so jealous of what you are able to do in California... on Christmas day, NOTHING was open here. Except for maybe Walmart.

HA! Now Shamu's image is even more tainted in my eyes. I believe it was the Shamu in Florida that killed his trainer....Also, I'm fraid of birds flying over me: I'm the only person I know that has been crapped on by birds at least 10 times in my life. -Jessica

Haha this post made me laugh! I'd definitely be traumatized if that whole bird ordeal happened to me too. What a fun way to spend Christmas day whether you celebrate it or not :) hope your new year is starting out well!
