Just In Case

Just in case the world, you know, the world ends today I thought it would be appropriate to document the day trip we took to the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza while visiting Cancun last month. =P
I'm a bit of a history nerd and found Chichen Itza to be really, really interesting. The Mayans were a pretty sophisticated civilization if you overlook the mass amount of human sacrifices they performed =P and had developed their own written and spoken language, mathematical astronomical systems, and calendar (that's where that whole end of the world theory comes in, the last day of their calendar is December 21, 2012).

I thought walking around the ruins was pretty incredible.

Where the human sacrifices took place, ish.

Cool eh? If you ever travel to Cancun I definitely recommend taking a day trip to Chichen Itza, that is if the world doesn't end today and you have a chance to go =P kidding kidding.

Hope you have a happy happy weekend and holiday spent with the people you love the most. XO
