On the evening of July 3rd we grab our bikes, meet at Star Park with hundreds of other San Diegans (okay mostly Coronado Islanders, but ya know we tag along), and ride around Coronado Island in one big group to kick off the 4th of July celebrations.
Taking part in Circumnavigation (what we call this special bike ride) is one of my very favorite San Diego adventures. Coronado Island is such a special place and the people who live there are so patriotic. Their energy is contagious, and I love spending the 3rd of July riding around the island with them (oh and not going to lie, I think it's entertaining to block traffic in a big group for a long period of time. At least the tourists get a kick out of it, the locals who are trying to get somewhere... not so much =P).

And now I will overload you with photos of beautiful Coronado Island and lots of patriotic happiness. I'm so thankful to live in this amazing place where I truly am free.

Happy 4th of July!
