1500 Ocean

Ahh San Diego Restaurant Week, you are one of my very favorites.
I research your restaurants.
I read through every restaurant's menu.
We only go to one restaurant, a $40 per person restaurant. 
I know. I take this process way way way too seriously.

I freaking love good food, guilty as charged.

All my silliness research? Well it brought us to 1500 Ocean at the Hotel Del Coronado last Friday night. The whole experience was wonderful. Great service, a beautiful ocean view, and such delicious food

Oh and, 1500 Ocean is offering their restaurant week menu for one more week! You have until September 27 to indulge in this goodness. Gooooooooooo!


My rhubarb & rose cocktail. SO GOOD.

Stuffed squash blossoms. I wasn't planning on ordering this appetizer but our waitress said it was her very favorite, and she was right on. The squash had such great flavor, I've never had anything like it before.
 Oh and Nadav's beef carpaccio?? Out of this world delicious!

Okay so my man likes red meat. He chose the natural beef ribeye for his entree. It tasted as good as it looks.
 Seared diver scallops. Yes, they also tasted as good as they looked ;)

For dessert....
chocolate polenta cake and vanilla bean creme brulle 
(The chocolate cake was okay, but the vanilla bean creme brulle was bomb)

I take Restaurant Week just as seriously! I generally narrow it down to 3 restaurants and then the BF and I pore over the menus for a while and make the final decision. We ended up going to Whisknladle this year, and it was FABULOUS! Highly recommended!
I'm thinking of trying somewhere else this week, too. ;)

This make me excited to Restaurant Week in D.C. even though it's months away haha. Discounted food always tastes better :)

Everything about this post is fantastic.
I LOVE good food, too, and I love how they make it much more affordable during RW. I keep missing it in Houston. I will be in there like swimwear next summer!

I get so happy when I see pics of the Del! One of my all time favorite places in SD! 1500 Ocean is on my list to eat at...but we always end up at Costa Azul when we are in Coronado. Huge difference but we are addicted!

YUMMM the burrata looks delicious!! K & I went on a random trip to Newport Beach once, & it just happened to be restaurant week! We didn't order from the menu -- our main goal was happy hour -- but, I definitely want to partake in a city's restaurant week one day soon!
