An Itinerary for 17 Days in Italy and 6 Days in Paris

Last August my fiance and I spent three and a half amazing weeks (I know the image above is a litte deceiving =P) exploring Italy and Paris. I have since blogged about almost each day of our trip and have received many emails from friends and blog readers who wanted to know more about itinerary.

So I give you... 
An Itinerary for 17 Days in Italy &  6 Days in Paris

Day
1 - Rome.
Explore Rome, did Rick Steve's Heart of Rome Walk

2 - Ancient Rome.
Visited the Borghese Gallery, Colosseum, Roman Forum, dinner in Trastevere

3 - Vatican City
Visit the Vatican and spent our last night people watching at the Sistine Chapel

4 - Sorrento
Traveled to Sorrento from Rome, spent the afternoon at a private beach, and had dinner at the harbor

5 - Sorrento
Spent the day at the beach and had an incredible dinner on the water

6 - Positano
Took the ferry from Sorrento to Positano, spent the day exploring Positano and enjoying the beach, had another incredible dinner in Sorrento

7 - Pompeii and Montepulciano (Tuscany)
Morning at Pompeii, circumvesuviana to Naples, picked up our rental at the Naples airport, and drove to our home base in Tuscany, Montepulciano

8 - Tuscany 

Explored Pienza, Montalcino, Siena

9 - Umbria

Explored Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio

10 - Pisa and Cinque Terre
Dropped off our car at the Pisa airport, checked out the leaning Tower of Pisa, and took the Trenitalia
train to Vernazza

11 - Hike from Vernazza to Monterosso
Hiked from Vernazza to Monterosso and hung out at the beach in Monterosso

12 - Vernazza
Spent the day at a secluded beach in Vernazza

13 - Florence
Train to Florence, visited the Accademia Gallery, had another incredible dinner at Trattoria Zaza, and explored the city

14 - Florence
Hiked to the Piazzale Michelangelo, visited the Great Synagogue of Florence and the Uffizi Gallery. Took the train to Venice

15 - Venice
Got lost in Venice, visited the Jewish Ghetto, and took a ferry to the island of Burano

16 - Venice and Lido island
Took the ferry to Lido and spent the day at Lido's beach

17 - Venice to Paris
Spent the morning getting lost (again) in Venice and flew to Paris

18 - Paris
Rented bikes, visited the Eiffel Tower, and just explored

19 - Paris
Visited Notre Dame and the Pompidou Center

20 - Paris
Enjoyed a walk through the Tuilleries Garden, visited the Orsay Museum, lunch in Rue Cler, explored the Luxembourg Gardens, checked out Pontes de Arcs, and took in perfect views of the Eiffel Tower

21 - Paris
Chateau Versailles

22 - Paris
Champ Elysees, the Lourve, picnic dinner at Tuilleries Garden, spent the night taking in the Eiffel Tower

23 - Train to Paris airport and au revoir Paris
