Joshua Tree Engagement Session

You know when you meet someone, just for the littlest bit and you CLICK. Well, that's what happened when I met Emily about a year ago at a little blogger brunch. We just got each other, and really truly became instant friends. It was all kind of awesome. At that time, Nadav and I had just gotten engaged and we had grand plans to get married in Israel. Right after meeting Emily I went home and talked to Nadav about flying Emily out to Israel to photograph our wedding, she's just that good. Well plans changed, and by the time we figured out the details of where and when we were getting married Emily had already been booked by another couple on our wedding day.

I was bummed, and now.. welllll I'm a million times MORE bummed because she just sent me the rest of the engagement photos she took. Waaaaaa Emily, are you sure you don't want to cancel that other wedding? =P I kid I kid not kidding.

What stands out to me about Emily is that she got us, as a couple, and that shows in our photos. Nadav, who can honestly be a bit camera shy, felt comfortable with her immediately and we really truly spent the day laughing and being ridiculous in beautiful Joshua Tree. It was THE BEST.

Emily, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for capturing our love.

If anyone out there is looking for an incredible wedding photographer email Emily, and do it now, before she gets booked on your wedding day. =P

Make sure you check out Emily's blog post about our engagement session! Eep I love it so so much!

Also, is it totally weird and lame that I made myself LOL while re-reading my own list of ingredients for our shoot day?

1) Incorporate dinosaurs. Then consider incorporating dinosaurs into your wedding decor. Just do it.
2) Ask park rangers whether there are Joshua trees inside Joshua Tree National Park (the answer is “yes”).
3) Instagram everything, even though there are (multiple) DSLR cameras present.
4) Put up with a LOT of wind.
5) Don’t be afraid to change outfits on the side of the road.
6) Take urgent photos of strange-looking cacti from the car window, just in case you don’t see more. In the desert.
