La Jolla Rainy Day

Saturday was one of those beautifully gray San Diego days. The kind of day that is spotted with little bursts of sun mixed with bits of rain. It was the kind of day that causes huge waves at the beach, and draws huge crowds to watch the surfers. Really, sometimes gray days are the beautiful ones. Especially when the rain comes and goes, and you're able to spend an afternoon walking around La Jolla Cove with the one you love the most.

It's pupping season at La Jolla Cove. It's a pretty amazing thing to watch a seal being born and then to stare in awe as the mother seal cares for her baby, but puhhleasee don't go down on the sand and bug the seals. Stay up on the walking path and just watch, says the local who gets a tid bit irritated with the tourists who forget that the seals need some space too...

That is too cool! If we can ever make a trip out to the West Coast I'll have to add this onto our "to do" list. Wild animals are so unique. Lovely photos.

This is so fun, and I'm adding it to my list of "things I eventually want to do." I'm also with you on the tourists. Back off people! How would they feel if a bunch of non-humans showed up in their delivery rooms? I mean, yeesh!
